Three Halifax primary schools have signed up to the 6C Energy scheme in a bid to save money on their energy bills.
Ling Bob Junior & Infants, Salterlee Primary School and Christ Church C of E Primary School in Halifax have all chosen to work with us after learning of the benefits at an energy and gas seminar hosted by Calderdale Council in June.
The seminar, which took place at The Shay Stadium in Halifax, gave local schools that had in the past been provided with energy contracts by the council’s preferred supplier the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO), the opportunity to consider other companies through which to secure their gas and energy contracts. Both our team and YPO presented to the schools.
Jez Tweed, environmental management officer at Calderdale Council said: “Due to cut backs in council funding and the growth of academies, the council is regrettably no longer able to offer schools the council’s own contract arrangements. As local schools become more commercially-minded and set out to secure their own gas and energy contracts we put on this event to highlight the choice in the market.
“We set up the 6C Energy scheme with Kinect Energy to give businesses and schools a chance to make savings and to think commercially about their energy use. I would encourage any local business or school in Calderdale to speak to 6C as there are a range of benefits available to local organisations through this initiative.”
Our unique proposition proved popular with the 14 primary schools in attendance at the event, and we have since secured meetings with all of the schools to discuss the benefits and contracts further.
A Kinect Energy spokesperson said: “Being part of 6C Energy gives you access to a wide range of services and our team possess the expertise to access market conditions to get the best possible rates on your energy and utility bills. Members have seen an average saving of 23% in energy costs so far and we are very hopeful of signing up more local schools in the coming months. On 12 July we will pitch again to five of the largest academies in Calderdale.”
6C Energy is free to join and helps local businesses and organisations reduce their energy bills through combined buying power and energy reduction programmes. The scheme has been specifically designed for Calderdale businesses in every sector looking to reduce their overheads.
